Cypress Creek Cottages is located in Wimberley, Texas, a town right in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. There are so many fun things to do! Our cabins are either a short walk or drive from several bars, restaurants, and watering holes (the kind you swim in!) and we have a pet-friendly spot waiting for you and yours.
Because we pride ourselves on helping you make great memories in the Hill Country, we thought we would share some of the must-see spots in the area, chosen by you! So here are a few of our guests’ favorite attractions and restaurants to get you thinking about your next trip to Wimberley!

Top Restaurants
There are tons of great places to eat in Wimberley and in the Texas Hill Country, but many of our guests like to stick close to their home away from home. Here are the spots that our guests most often mention loving their experiences when they choose to skip the in-cabin kitchen experience for a nice dinner out!
Far and away, the Leaning Pear comes up most frequently. They are open Wednesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and they’re even open for Sunday Brunch! They serve “Hill Country-inspired cuisine” which includes soups and salads, wood-fired pizza, and delicious entrées like crab cakes, chicken and grits, and mac & cheese! You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better lunch or dinner spot.
The number two spot on the list of guest favorite restaurants in town is the Wimberley Café, a staple in the area for almost 20 years now! They have great daily specials and something on the menu that’s perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We’d recommend breakfast – the menu is huge and you get to start your adventures off with some perfect fluffy pancakes or a loaded omelet – what’s not to love? Check out their printable breakfast menu and lunch menu to see all the great choices.
Rounding out our top 3 Wimberley eateries is the Longleaf Craft Kitchen and Bar. Their name is inspired by the longleaf pine that lines the walls of this restaurant and bar. This exciting spot gets a lot of its ingredients from local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen, and they also offer an extensive selection of craft cocktails, beer, and wine. You can eat inside, in the courtyard, or in the sculpture garden, whatever suits your fancy. Their menu and drink lists are both mouthwatering and reasonably priced!

Top Attractions in Wimberley
Now that you know where to get some great food and drinks to fuel up for a day of adventures or wind down after all that exploring, we’ve got to give you the guest-loved attractions you’ll want to make time for while you enjoy your stay at Cypress Creek Cottages.
The attraction that our guests mention the most, of course, is the Blue Hole Regional Park. The park is just 2 miles from Cypress Creek Cottages and boasts 126 acres of beautiful views, including a 3-acre swim area that’s open every day from Memorial Day to Labor Day (the park itself is open year-round). There are 4.5 miles of trails to explore, a playscape for the kids, sports areas, and a community pavilion. You can check out our blog article for some great tips to enjoy your time there, or head over to TripAdvisor to see what other people are saying!
Up next on the list of places you don’t want to miss is the Jacob’s Well Natural Area, a spring that is also the headwaters of Cypress Creek and the second-largest fully-submerged cave in Texas! Like Blue Hole, you can swim here in the summers, but the full natural area is more than 80 acres. You can take guided tours and enjoy many activities and features including geocaching, birding, picnicking, hiking trails, and even check out the labyrinth and sundial. It’s a great place to enjoy nature and learn about the history of the natural and cultural phenomena that this area is home to.
The third attraction our guests love in Wimberley is Old Baldy, our beloved and historic hilltop. You can learn more about the history of this staple spot in Wimberley in our blog post, or hike to the top on your next visit and experience the gorgeous panoramic views and scenery of the Hill Country for yourself!
