Which Wimberley Swimming Hole Will You Choose?
Blue Hole Regional Park
Blue Hole is a 6-minute drive from Cypress Creek Cottages. Tucked away beneath large, mature trees, the cool, clear waters are the perfect cure for any hot summer day. Bring the whole family and set up in the shade for a picnic. Many people also use inflatable tubes to float in while exploring the still waters. Take a look at the Blue Hole Regional Park Trail Map to plan your excursion, and also consider exploring the connected Cypress Creek Nature Trail Park while you’re out!
Cypress Falls Swimming Hole
7-minutes away from Cypress Creek Cottages is the Cypress Falls Swimming Hole. While visiting this family-friendly swimming area, you’ll experience two different water features: Eagle Rock, which is a natural cave along the creek, and a peaceful waterfall. While this swimming hole is less protected by the shade of trees, the glassy waters are still as enticing as ever. However, make sure to apply extra sunscreen while visiting this destination!
Jacob’s Well
Jacob’s Well in Wimberley is just 8-minutes away and is known to be one of Texas’s longest submerged caves, maxing out at 140-feet deep. You might need to pack some extra gear when visiting this swimming hole, because it requires a 15-minute hike over rocky terrain. Make sure everyone is wearing sneakers, and also consider packing water bottles, snacks, and as always, sunscreen to be most prepared!
Although it’s a hike, it’s well worth the extra energy and preparation when you see the vast waterway surrounding by thriving greenery and iconic wildflowers. Plus, imagine how good it will feel to jump in after a walk in the Texas sun. Visiting this site is potentially one of our favorite things to do in Wimberley, TX!
Cypress Creek Cottages Await Your Return
After visiting a Wimberley swimming hole, return to the comfort of your cozy cottage. Spread out in Cottage 6, which sleeps up to five guests and features an eclectic loft. Gather around the dining room table with the whole family and use the full kitchen to cook a homemade meal! You can even take advantage of the personal grill that comes with each accommodation. Once your bellies are full, rest up in a king-size bed for whatever the next day might bring in the Texas Hill Country!
We look forward to seeing you soon.
